Answering the Call to Service

Mayor Gary Christenson, City Councillor Barbara Murphy and Veterans Services Director Kevin Jarvis
gathered to commend Corey French as he prepares to depart on March 24th to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina for 13 weeks of U.S. Marines Military Basic Training. Corey, a lifelong resident of Ward 5 said that he is hoping his career in the military will help him with his long term goal of becoming a police officer, adding that he is looking very forward to the challenge.

“Corey’s willingness to defend and protect our freedom is a true inspiration,” said Mayor Christenson. “We are grateful for his eagerness to serve and look forward to his safe return home.”
